Beverly, Massachusetts resident Mark Crowley, 57, pleaded guilty this week to possession of child pornography and risk of injury to a minor involving a girl in Wilton, State’s Attorney Richard Colangelo said. He allegedly had illicit photos of the young girl when he was arrested in October last year.
The story was first reported by the Stamford Advocate.
In September last year, Crowley’s victim’s parents reportedly contact police in Wilton to report that their daughter had been sending text messages to an adult man. They stated that the photos, which had been sent a week earlier, were sexually explicit and included photographs.
The investigation led police to Crowley, who was arrested on Oct. 25 last year.
It was noted by investigators that Crowley was arrested and charged with indecent exposure after exposing himself to a random woman in 2003 in Massachusetts.
As part of his plea, Crowley is reportedly expected to be sentenced to a term of three years in prison and 15 years of probation. When he is sentenced, he will also be placed on the state’s Sex Offender Registry for at least a decade and will potentially undergo sex offender evaluation and treatment.
Crowley is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 7 next year.
